After another crazy long day in Cincinnati we are finally headed home and keeping our eye to the sky to look for the Christmas Star.
We don’t have much to report on Sloane today. All in all things were unchanged this week from last week which is actually good news. The fluid that accumulated hadn’t grown, her cardiac function was still fine, and although the tumor continues to grow it is growing in proportion to her body so not causing significant changes. She weighs 3lbs now which is great progress – the doctors say that if she can get to 5 lbs before she is born it will give us a lot more options.
We also found out that there was a baby born this week with Sloane’s condition in India that is doing well. It is crazy for there to be another so close to Sloane’s age as the odds of having this type of tumor are less than 1 in a million. We hope you’ll pray for this sweet baby as well. Our doctor has been talking to the team there to gather information as well.
Sloane gained a guardian angel today as our lifelong family friend, Phillip passed away. Phillip always paid special attention to Embry because he actually had the same eye condition she has. If there’s anyone in the world who will bend God’s ear about Sloane it’s Phillip. I know he will watch over in his KCJF gear while we navigate this long road.
Kevin and I are hanging in there. We were able to do some “normalish” things this weekend which helped our mindset a lot. We continue to have faith that if it is God’s will Sloane will find a way to come home to us one day. We continue to covet your prayers for:
God’s will to be done in Sloane’s life
Peace and comfort for our family and for Sloane
Wisdom for us and our team of doctors as we make decisions
Miracles to happen and Sloane to experience the healing only God can provide
